San Francisco 49ers cornerback Frank Culliver apologized Wed to make homophobic feedback during Extremely Dish Press Day.
Culliver, a second-year cornerback from Southern Carolina, informed stereo variety Artie Lange (audio via Yahoo! Sports) on Wednesday that the Niners do not have any gay gamers and that "They have to get up out of here if they do.” Culliver also said that a gamer needs to remain in the wardrobe if he is gay.
After the Niners openly "rejected" the comments, Culliver launched his own declaration, which the San Francisco Explain shown via Twitter:
"The derogatory feedback I created last night were a expression of ideas in my go, but they are not how I experience. It has taken me seeing them in create to understand that they are painful and unpleasant. Those discerning emotions are truly not in my center. Further, I say sorry to those who I have harm and upset, and I commitment to understand and develop from this encounter.”
The Niners were fast to range themselves from Culliver's terms to Lange.
“The San Francisco 49ers decline content that were created last night, and have resolved the issue with Frank. There is no position for elegance within our company at any stage. We have and always will happily assistance the LGBT group,” the group said in its declaration.
The group has not said whether it will self-discipline Culliver.
